Oregon Hot Springs, REALLY

I think I need to finish this. Oregon has one spectacular hot spring and that's Bagby. Unfortunately the road in was closed last time I checked. It's a two mile saunter in, and it's 45 miles or so from Estacada, Oregon. The park service wants $5 or $10 to park. It's worth it and the only one I'll pay for. It's actually well developed by my standards. It's got a large bath house and an outdoor  tub larger than a hot tub, about double the size and sits along a river. Complete with changing area. The bath house has a couple open-air hot tubs next to each other and a handful of carved wooden tubs, that are individually enclosed, so you can have some privacy. I like to have a nude soak in all of them when I go. Bring candles for the carved individual enclosed tubs, its that nice. I don't wear a bathing suit, there's no need. I've met some nice people there. Try to go  later in the afternoon so you can not see the rangers and stay into or through the night. No one time stands out as they've all been nice. My ex-wife and I first went there. We visited about 3 times. And I went with both Heidi and Debra, but, of course, not at the same time. You've got to see it to really appreciate how cool it is.

I'm pretty sure I've been to all of the Oregon Hot Springs, bar none. There's a bunch I haven't been too, and loads of pay ones I didn't bother to try. Moving right along... East of Eugene is Cougar. The hippies love that one but I've seen people bathing their dirty cooch upstream from where i was soaking, I wasn't a fan. East of that is Bigelow. I used to really love Bigelow. we'd go every year after the Oregon Country Faire. Occasionally we'd see people but not a lot. It's an easy quarter mile walk in and we found it to be getting colder and colder every year so we stopped going. I think the maps have it as McCredie. Its Deer Creek. South of Burns is a private one that I liked. Crane Hot Springs I think. They use it to heat the water in your cabins. I liked that one but its $10 a night. Oh before that is Paulina, but it's mostly a seep, not a soak. 

If you goto the SE Corner of the state, is 3 Forks Warm Springs. I loved that one, but I broke my thumb or wrist there. It's 30 miles from the nearest gas station. It cuts around a sharp bend with a sharp drop right at the very end of a dead end 30 mile dusty road. It's got a , IIRC, you walk across a creek then go up a tricky ethier walk up a slide or scramble up the side. It took an argument to figure out which way to get in. technically it's a warm spring. And technically it's in Nevada but 29.5 miles of the road is in Oregon. It's got a massive flow as you can see from the photo. It's only like 99 degrees but since its 105 in the desert, it's perfect, especially at night when it cools off. So, we had been soaking all day and decided it was time to go. and needless to say the bong hits, beers and valium were getting the best of me, so I decided that I could go down the slide. Wrong. I tried to stop myself from cracking my head open and certain death as i slid down way faster than my slow brain anticipated, and while I managed to not die, i bent my thumb all the way back and broke it. Not related to that, but I was too chicken to drive up the road with the drop off to get out, so Jennifer did that and somehow i walked up but we got a flat up at the top. I had AAA but no cell service. We went back to the one guy we had seen all day and he drove me back to the nearest gas station 30 miles away to get someone to fix the tire and bring me back, what a long day. We get the tire back on and get back to the gas station only to find out that we had left my wallet 30 miles back where the tire had went flat. We convinced someone we could pay them for gas and time if they drove me back out there to get my wallet so we could buy gas, luckily that worked and my wallet wa where it I left it, and mind you my wrist or thumb is broken but I'm pretty oblivious to that, I didn't know until we got home like a  day or two later and it was all black and blue. No health insurance at that time, so we paid to goto immediate care and they verified it was broken but it was too much to fix so i just let it heal on its own.

Half way from Burns to the state line with Idaho is Junctura. (But it may have been Snively)We found it, but the river we had to cross was moving too fast to actually go into it.  There was another on the way to Bagby, or something, that one was Austin. It was redneck heaven with floating beer cans and the likes. Went there twice, once when the road was closed and someone offered us some meth as we were smoking bong hits trying to decide our next move and the other time there was rednecks partying like nothing else, blaring music and whoopin it up, so soaking never happened. Then, on the road that goes west from Paulina to Klamath past Crater Lake (with Wizard Island) National Park. It's one of the deepest lakes in the world and the deepest in the USA. On the west end of that highway are two or three hot springs. The maps say i'm wrong. I think the next one is McCredie and the last one is Umpqua. One was inches from the highway in a wide gravel spot, but it was not deep enough to submerge my balls, well, my balls but nothing else and the hot water would come out in surges and only float on the top scalding hot you had to keep stirring it. I recall hanging out with a  couple [people there. One hippy chick who explained all of the healing properties and mineral content of the water as she collected it for her potions and salves and tea. The another dude was pretty cool. I recall he had some cheap metal kitchen butter knives that he had broke in just the right way to make a pipe out of. WE puffed with him for a while. McCredie I think its that one's name.

Last one I recall was Umpqua. That one was actually a couple of pools perched on a hillside. But they were damned cool. I remember hating the cliff aspect but lovin the pools. We only went there once.

Well in a half hour this'll be the first post of June. My how time flies. I forgot, May has 31 days. But I'll wait until June 1 before I tell you about this one anyway.

Briefly: First, I finally after four days of trying, got a tornado photo I liked, and actually I made 3, all a little different. As I'm out of immediate ideas, I'll wait and share those later. Below is the first one I submitted and we'll see if it breaks the pseudo limit I have of 35 votes.

Music, I love. Anouk. EVerybody was all Adele, but fuck that chick, i mean she was good but at the same time, Anouk was an international hit and I loved Anouk. Still do. This one was like the European version of Alanis Morissette. All break up songs, which seems to be a common theme a lot of my music has. Next is a song by a band I got turned on to in college by these cats that i met once when we went over to buy some pot off of them. It was in the summer and they had pot growing out in their field but man it was well hidden, I couldn't see it. Good pot too. I never did go back there. I think the old man played drums with my buddys band. Not sure on that but I went out and bought this CD. You know, I had a couple hundred CDs and DVDs, only some of which I still have mp3s and videos of but I gave them to this guy, the guy I had making all my kief boxes, Mr Keifbox, Myron, Myo. He made killer kief boxes. I bought one for my ol' lady, my best buddy and ex-wife at one  point, plus a $420 for me and 2 more for myself, man I gave him some good business. Myo is a tall guy, I'll get to that in a second. So anyway I gave him all that business, my own money, buying $60 boxes for everyone I could think of, my ex wife even, yikes, and I was getting ready to give my house to the bank and go to central america, even though I was only three months behind on mortgage, if i'd have known then that you didn't have to move out I would have stayed longer, but maybe not, I got robbed right at the end there and made it so I couldn't eve the house without worry of being robbed again, too much expensive pot growing and I didnt know how to pay mortgage any other way, so I gave him that big storage bin, maybe two of DVDs and CSs with one condition That he not sell them. He could give them away, but I didn't want him to sell them. Which he did about 2 months later, He was asking $5 for the DVds on Facebook, I was pissed. I've only spoken with him one other time since then, because he basically ruined whatever friendship we had. He was hitting me up asking about sex clubs, and swapping and stuff cuz he knew I was into all that, and we talked a couple times and he wanted to have a partner swap and his ol' lady was cute and so we tried to set it up, but Chiston took one look at his cock and freaked out and said no way, it was too big. I laughed a big sigh of relief because that's one of my big fears is to be the little dick in the room, which i was by damned almost half, he had a knee slapper, I don't know how he had enough blood to get that thing up, man it was impressive. Never spoke with him after that.
